What we do
At Brainwave, we transform the lives of children with disabilities by improving their mobility, communication skills and learning potential through a range of specialist therapies.
Our multidisciplinary team of qualified Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Learning Development Support Workers create a bespoke Therapy Programme tailored to suit each individual child’s needs.
The results can be life changing. Children who couldn’t move, now walk; who couldn’t make a sound, now giggle and whose low attainment at school, is now greatly improved.
Taking place over seven days, from 10 – 17 December, you can purchase your balloons, customise them with snazzy designs and then track their progress on your very own dashboard from the launch in Lapland!
What we have been doing in 2021
Since introducing Brainwave Online in 2020 we have been able to deliver multidisciplinary therapies to children in their own homes when they have been unable to make the journey to see us in person.
This has now developed to a blended approach of both face-to-face and online therapy depending on each child’s needs. This continues to work well and we anticipate it being a part of our service in the future.
We are also working towards a new delivery model that places Brainwave’s support in partner locations across the North West and South East to ensure families have better access to support and allow the number of children we help to increase.
2022 marks Brainwave’s 40th Anniversary and we’re inviting everyone that has been touched by Brainwave during this time to take part in our celebrations! There are several ways you can get involved, by fundraising, donating or raising awareness of our work, please visit brainwave.org.uk to find out more.
How you can help
Brainwave is an independent organisation that complements the NHS. We do not receive any ongoing government funding and rely on voluntary donations to run our service.
By taking part in our Virtual Balloon Race, you’ll be helping to raise vital funds for our charity and help transform the lives of the children and families we support.
